Happened to me the day after a fuel up and oil check / washer fluid fill up. I was definitely moving ( right around the speed limit) and wind was gusting hard. I can’t remember if I slammed the hood shut but every time after that I’m not gentle with the hood. The sucker gets slammed from now on.
Almost the same experience for me. Job1 truck. Hybrid drive shit the bed at 1,300 miles and was fine after it was replaced until around 20,000 where an O2 sensor wire shorted and the whole truck went nuts. The dealer was chasing demons trying to figure out what was wrong until me and the...
Happened to me… cleaned the windshield and didn’t happen since. Try cleaning with wipers or quick swipe of the glass outside where the camera is next to rear view? Or maybe I just got lucky?
My check engine light was coming on every time I went over 4,000 rpm. There was a calibration issue where the hybrid drive couldn’t keep up with the 3.5 ICE. The code it was throwing out was indicating that the difference between the Hybrid Drive and the ICE was off by 25ft/lb or more and that...
Funny you say that. I didn’t believe the dealer when they told me this but they showed me the crate the hybrid electric drive was delivered in and it had the correct part number clearly labeled but the part inside was not the same part. Definitely a “brain fog” moment by Ford.
100%.
Apparently the induced “brain fog” is also destroying the parts deliveries. Took months to get my parts delivered even when they were available. My dealer ordered my parts in May/June they received the wrong parts in August/September and when I finally got an appointment to bring the...
Final update…. I hope ?
My powerboost is finally fixed and running better than when new. Transitions from electric to gas are smoother, getting better gas mileage (only 270 miles in) and power and acceleration are back.
The long saga here and delay in completing the repair was primarily...
Any techs out there that would know if this is possibly a symptom of overfilling or under-filling the fluid after the repair - hoping it’s something that simple?!?!
Yet another update on this. After waiting for a very long time to get all the parts in to fix this issue, The part that came in was the wrong part. Apparently Ford sent them the electric drive for an Explorer rather than an F150 and the only reason that’s relevant is because they only...
I’m waiting on a seal that is on backorder so they haven’t done the repair yet. It’s expected to come in later this week so might get it done by end of week.
Have you noticed that the CEL comes on during heavy acceleration or above 4000 rpm? That’s apparently the tell if you need a new hybrid...
