I'm about to receive my truck and will be tinting it all around. Even though its illegal in MN, I have an Rx from my dermatologist to get it done thanks to a recent bout of skin cancer.

At a minimum, I'll be tinting the sides to match the back, and the sunroof. I'd like to tint the front windshield too, but I'm worried about seeing at night.

How dark would you guys recommend? Are there any UV blocking films with 100% transmission?

I put 70% on mine as well. No issues at night. We have a ton of deer by me so I was hesitant at first but it's not that noticable. I believe most quality window tints have 99% UV rejection. The manufacturer websites should list that value.

Mine is 50% ceramic tint. Perfectly see through and allows for somewhat reduced UV transmission. Its especially noticeable during the day when you would expect to use a sun visor or glasses and don't have to!

I’ve got 80% and from the inside you’d never guess it was there.

Thanks. Sounds like I can do something light enough in the front and still get that UV protection.

I got 25% on mine and can see perfect. 😅 that’s with 5% all around on the side windows.

Here are some pics with XPEL ceramic 20% on the front doors and 70% on the front windshield, back doors, and back glass in a variety of sunlight conditions. I still wear sunglasses when driving.

I really like the Xpel tint. I have it on one of my vehicles and have been very impressed (I've had every vehicle tinted since the mid-90s and owned lots of cars/trucks).

As an earlier poster mentioned, they make clear tint that can be used on the front windshield with an over 90% effectiveness at blocking UV.
