Sigh, just here to vent. Wife was driving and apparently kicked something up with the rear tire into the lower quarter panel. I thought it just tore up the stone guard. Ordered a new one, put it on, and found there is in fact a dent.

Emailed two PDR guys, both said they would have to see it in person to see what can be done. I can feel the back of the panel with my hand, it shouldnt be hard to get to so I am hopeful it will be an easy fix. Still sad as the truck has under 3000 miles on it.

Tis life I guess. Thanks for listening and your sympathy. Words of encouragement are appreciated lol.

My wife put a dent in the door of mine when it was about that old as well. I definitely can sympathize.

I've been wondering what the difference might be with repairing an Aluminum body -vs- steel.
I hope I never have to find out but the fact is... it's a "pickup truck" and I've never owned one that remained unscathed very long.
It's a tool not a trophy (I keep telling myself!)

From what I understand PDR can be done on aluminum, hell hoods have been aluminum for some time, its just sometimes more difficult and does require a bit different technique. We shall see...

We havent really gotten to the part where she tells me what she hit. I have no idea how whatever it was tore the stone guard didn't scratch the paint and also didnt damage the exhaust or the rest of the quarter panel. It's almost like something ran down the side of it rather than being kicked up by the tire.

Regardless I hope it can be fixed. As you mentioned access to the back is great, and I really only need it to sit flush with the plastic guard doesnt have to be 100% like it would if it was in the middle of a door so I am hopeful it comes out ok.

A couple of years ago I had a giant wooden stick bottle rocked fall out of the sky from who knows where on the 4th of July, and it left a nasty crater in the hood of my 3 week old '2020 F150. After PDR, it was like it never happened. Wishing you the same luck.

my truck got hit by a golf ball driving past a driving range. Hit the ground in front of me bounce up and back onto my hood. Made a nice dent on the tip of the food. Can’t make it up. Truck was 6 months old. My dent guy came by and removed it like it was never there. Was able to access it via small hole inside of the hood. They are great finding ways to push out the dents. Love that guy! You’ll be fine. They will fix it.

Hail storm got every panel except tailgate on my pickup last march.
Had to replace the hood, roof & windshield, but PDR brought everything else back like it never happened
